Bringing My Vision Board to Life

I made a vision board at the start of 2023 with a few goals listed; goals such as visit lots of coffee shops, relearn the French language, and take more photos with my camera. I never, ever imagined getting the chance to accomplish a goal I've had for years.

It's been two years since I started writing this blog, as this hobby temporarily lost its purpose. What is the good in writing posts if only one person would read them? Why should I spend time curating content if it is unable to be shared? Hence the two-year hiatus. And now, the blog has been reborn, with a new identity and reasons to share my creative spirit with the world. An opportunity to reignite my passion for writing and being vulnerable on the internet with my visions and opinions. What may that be you ask? Let's just say I went way out of my comfort zone and I finally get to live out one of the many pictures from my Pinterest board.

About 6 months ago, I was in the middle of the dreaded search for a job as a 20-something-year-old college student about to finish her first-ever internship after one year. A lot of Interior Design positions, even at entry-level, prefer candidates with 2 to 3 years of experience, which is not entirely possible at my age. So I bit the bullet and applied to some big-shot architectural firms and small interior design businesses around my hometown and state. A few months went by with minimal responses, and those that did reply turned me down. The search seemed more fruitless as my junior year of college was coming to a close and summer was approaching. However, one night, while sitting on my couch I happen to get an interior design intern position post for a company in Milan, Italy. I chuckled at the thought of working abroad for the summer and getting to lounge on a beach in the same place. Curiosity got the better of me, and just for fun I searched up internships abroad, and a website called World Endeavors popped up on Google. World Endeavors is a travel company that sends young students abroad for a few months to get an internship experience unlike no other. The idea was appealing, and I decided to give it some thought. I have always wanted to travel abroad and experience the culture of another country. A few weeks later, while on a ski vacation, I decided to apply with nothing to lose. In a matter of days, my application was accepted, and I was suddenly beginning to prepare to intern for an interior design company in London, England. Now, in the present, I am just a week away from my flight to London, and I could not be more excited!

So! The purpose of this blog is to post about my experiences while away, including my thoughts, feelings, and photos of my two months abroad. I should note this is my first time traveling internationally alone, so this will be quite a unique experience for me! I can't wait to share my perspective with you!
