As a student, I try to find the cheapest and most budget-friendly activities and attractions to enjoy while I'm in London and avoid the large crowds of tourists in the process. Find the gems in the stone and take part in some of the richest areas of British culture. Last weekend I had the pleasure of visiting the Tate Britain Museum, an art museum close to the banks of the River Thames. The Tate Britain is known for its galleries of British artists' work and traditional pieces. Entry is absolutely free, with the exception of monthly exhibitions as well as the café and gift store.
I wandered from floor to floor and studied everything from sculptures to modern photographs, each piece more unique than the last. Some pieces puzzled me, others were amusing and interesting. All of them were thought-provoking, which is an aspect of art I enjoy. How a piece can invoke so much reflection, and all of it is endured in silence. It wasn't that crowded, which surprised me, as it was a Friday afternoon. Nevertheless, I loved it all. Best believe I took a lot of photos while there! You can find some of those in the photo gallery on my blog.
Cheers!
